Three Wheeled Buggies

Three-wheeled buggies are great for walking around the neighborhood or for jogging. Their compact design allows them to be maneuvered easily even in tight areas.

Frame made of sturdy material

New data show that three-wheeled buggies, that symbol of the decade that were more expensive than common sense, are in steep decline. They have been replaced by four-wheelers that can handle a wider range of terrain, while also looking swanky and being easy to push.

The idea is that the bigger the wheels, the easier it will be for your buggy to cope with rough ground and bumpy pavements. The larger wheels on both the front and back also makes it much easier to manoeuvre and more stable when walking downhill or over difficult terrain.

MFM reviewer Kath tried this buggy out with a newborn and a 3 wheel stroller cheap year old and found that it coped well with cobbles, grass, rough roads, dirt tracks, and kerbs. She said "it feels sturdy to push and extremely solid when you're on rough terrain. The tyres, which are inflated and require to be pumped up occasionally, have built-in suspension. This was extremely comfortable for my children.

The shape and size of the seat is a further factor to consider. You will want it to be large enough for your child's comfort. You will also want it to be able to recline to allow them to lie flat. Certain three-wheel buggies come with the option of lying flat, which allows the child to face you, while other buggies only allow a parent-facing one.

Larger wheels

Larger wheels mean your buggy will have more stability on uneven terrain, which is ideal for off-road buggies. They also help you maneuver the pushchair in tight spaces. Many three wheeled buggies have the front wheels that swivel to aid you in maneuvering around tight corners, while others are designed for running and have fixed front wheels that lock to improve the speed and stability at which they can be pushed. This is especially useful when you hit the kerb or a tree. The front wheel will lift slightly to keep it from hitting it.

A majority of 3 wheel pushchair wheel pushchairs come with air-filled tyres, which means they are able to handle a variety of terrains and are far more flexible than 4-wheeler. They are also lighter. However, they're susceptible to punctures, so you'll need to have a repair kit, spare inner tube and pump in your bag.

Buggies with larger wheels may be quite wide and they may be a challenge to fit into narrow spaces. This can be an issue if you're using it as a jogger or you need to to get through narrow doorways when out and about. Many models have compact folding options, which permit you to take off the front wheels and store them in a more compact manner.

Easy to maneuver

A three-wheel buggy can be more comfortable to drive with children. The way in which they are built means that the front wheels rotate at a quick pace and are extremely easy to maneuver, making them ideal for difficult terrain like cobbles, parks or bumpy pavements, as well as dirt tracks.

MFM reviewer Kath tried out a three-wheeler with her infant and toddler and stated: "The Terrain was a pleasure to navigate over the rough ground and the swivel front wheel particularly useful. I was also impressed with the way it handled kerbs, especially when using the hand-operated brake. It was extremely stable when for descending or on uneven terrain."

The only drawback to this great maneuverability, is that the larger wheels of the 3 wheel buggy might make it difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is something you need to be aware of if your home area is a city. If this is a concern then a 4-wheeler might be better for you.
