Volvo Key Fob Troubleshooting

Volvo drivers are enthralled by the remote control features of their key fob. With a smartphone app they can lock and unlock the vehicle as well as start the engine and even locate it.

Take it off by sliding it downwards and to the right. The cover will then come open and slide off leaving the manual key blade within! If you're unable to locate the button, take a look around the now-uncovered manual key access for an undiscovered lever or slot.

Close the Windows

One of the features that is hidden on Volvo key fobs is that you are able to close all windows immediately using them. This is a great feature when you're trying to squeeze into tight parking spaces or simply want fresh air while driving.

Press and hold the unlock button on your Volvo remote control for four seconds. This will lower the windows and the sunroof, if there is one. After that, once you're done with your car you can shut the doors by pressing the lock button once more for four seconds.

You can also set off the panic alarm in your car with the key fob. It will sound an alarm that is loud and attention-grabbing that could frighten away thieves and help you get home safely after a long night out. This feature is helpful when you live in a dangerous area or wish to ensure your family's safety when you are away from home.

The opening of the Tailgate

Volvo's key fob is packed with a variety of useful features. These are perfect when you're busy shopping for groceries or helping your kids pack their sports gear after a workout.

If you have the Hands Free Liftgate with Logo Projection and Programmable Height (if equipped) then you can open it with the key fob. You can open the liftgate by pressing the button and then close it using the same button.

By pressing the lock button for 2 seconds, you can also close the windows and shut the sunroof when they're equipped. Reconnect the battery, and the alarm will stop.
