The Band Toto Asia

Toto released Isolation despite the turmoil. It wasn't as well-liked as IV. However, the band still managed to release another chart-topping album in 1992 with Kingdom of Desire. This album marked the end of the original Toto lineup and was the first album featuring the new singer, Simon Phillips.

Line-up

The album's third, Turn Back, marked an reversion to the classic sextet format of previous albums. It was a more ferocious, consistent effort with a harder edge than Hydra. Its more punk-rock sound reflected the maturation of the group and included drummer Bobby Kimball's greater ability on the drums and 먹튀검증 an improved, 스포츠토토 mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard work was also more sophisticated, sharper, and less derivative on previous recordings.

After touring to promote their album, the group recorded an Amsterdam live concert which was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set titled Falling In Between. The group released their new studio album a few months later and embarked on a world tour help promote the album. In this time, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.

In 1998, Paich and Lukather started exploring old tapes and demos for a new album featuring songs that had never been recorded before. The album was released in 2001 as a double album titled Then and Now. It was the first album by the band that did not include one single track with the word "A" in the title, and it also contained one previously not released track, "Kari-Anne".

By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New was an uncommercial success and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis that limited his singing ability. In addition, Hungate returned to Nashville, while drummer Leland Sklar was replaced by Shem von Schroeck.

Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the original members of Asia were in England early in 2006 to discuss the possibility that the band could be revived. This lineup, minus Howe who was working with Yes at the period, was later renamed Toto XIV. They toured extensively.

In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also featured the appearance of singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
