The robots also come with the feature of Carpet Boost that increases its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our tests on floors that are bare and are particularly effective at cleaning pet hair. They do have some flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first choice. For one, the Q5's navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a great deal for those whose home or office has a lot of bare floors and Best Robot Hoover you want to save some money. It's also very quiet and can be used while you are at work or at school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and Best Robot Hoover cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with a self-emptying dock, though. If you need to, the mopping pad can be swapped for one that is wet in just a few minutes.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a sleek, compact package. It did a good cleaning job on different flooring and rooms with different flooring types including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was superb, and it avoided fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles cables.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically fills up its base, and supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With an elegant, circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxy units, this robot automatic vacuum cleaner and mop and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our tests. The latest model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our testing. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and detect obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its competitors with premium features. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection, although this wasn't quite reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner comes with an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to accomplish the task. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home according to the amount of dirt they tend to be.
