World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The upgrading of your equipment is an essential element of equipping your character. Upgrades boost damage to items and enhancements.

They also provide bonuses and improvements. The Blacksmith can sell them to you.

The upgrade button is available on any item. Every recycled item adds one level to the gauge for upgrading.

Weapons

When an item is upgraded, it will gain a base damage bonus and a scaling factor that influences other stats. The weapon can also gain a variety of upgrade components that offer additional effects or attributes and some even have unique cosmetic effects. These upgrades can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, gathering tools and trinkets. They generally require that the equipment has an upgrade slot available and meet certain requirements. When the weapon is at the maximum level of upgrade, it may be reforged with a number of different types of upgrades to increase specific stats or to add bonuses and effects. A variety of these upgrades can be re-applied at once, and the effects are based on the nature of the weapon.

Two Blacksmiths can be upgraded in the game: Blacksmith Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace and Smithing Master Hewg at the Church of Elleh hub. Both upgrade materials are different: Smithing Stones to modify the kind of damage a weapon deals and Somber Smithing Stones to alter the standard weapons.

In general, it's advisable to increase the damage of your weapon first. Then you can improve your armor defense, and then the secondary stats that are required by your build. In particular, it is common to see melee druids upgrading their weapon before any other gear, since this can increase DPS. This is especially relevant to enchantments that can be extremely effective in boosting the damage of a weapon and other stats.

Armor

Item upgrades allow players to enhance the base stats of certain armor pieces, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools. These upgrades may also have other effects, such as an increase in damage or cosmetic enhancements. The armor can be upgraded by visiting the Armorer NPC and spending appropriate currencies. Most armor will upgrade items to the next level following an upgrade. Most armor types can be upgraded, however certain items (such as the starter armour in Great Sky Island) cannot.

Trinket

This trinket at the moment, will cause X% of regular floors to be filled with grass or water. It doesn't alter glyphs, enchantments, cursed armor or weapons, or items that are produced to aid in the elimination of the dangers in rooms.

This trinket, at its current level, boosts the health benefits of drinking healing potion and wells of life by X%, and grants mind sight on enemies within the Y tile. Skull Cavern is where you will find Trinkets after completing the Mastery Cave. You will find them when you defeat Monsters and in chests and crates. They are not found in the Mines or Volcano Dungeon.

If you have a trinket which needs to be upgraded, place it in the Anvil to do so. This will affect the trinket which is random that will either enhance or intensify its effects. You can reforge the trinket as often as you want, but it will always have a new effect.

You can upgrade your Trinkets in the Alchemy Station by placing them into the Magical Catalyst. This will cost 6 energy, but increase the trinkets power by a tiny amount.
