World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.

For instance, a weapon with the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the item's current level. The cost increases as the item's level increases.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons, and trinkets in order to provide a stat bonus or extra effect while they're in use. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to blue level before the component can be used. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it is applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level with normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can modify the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher tier version of the item will be available at the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of the extent to which it will improve following a subsequent reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it's possible that the item will be obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that can double or even eliminate the chance of failure, and some upgrades that offer the benefit of being reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible up to 15 levels.

You will often find in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the most effective way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced again, are the most common. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values it can improve a statistic by. The value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs then you have to put them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that boosts the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to increase the power of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385. Each level of an item requires a different amount of components, and the upgrade costs increase as the item gets leveled up.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab in crafting tables. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. Once enough points are earned you'll be able to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When a player improves the equipment they have, the base item is replaced by the new item. The same armor can be transformed into an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set of bonuses. This could be a drawback, as the item can be more expensive even if you don't need it.

If the player has enough tokens they can reroll item upgrades. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will have a level 1 base and a completely different set of bonus bonuses. This is useful for certain items, but it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can waste many resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times, increasing their value and allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives a buff if the player continuously enters or exits water. It can be upgraded multiple times, each time raising the max roll by 10 points. Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as the required strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear, which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object, it is at risk of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number.
