Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, commonly referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts the stats linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain a level gauge for each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item scales with its rarity and level.

Upgrade components

An upgrade for an item in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the effectiveness of your weapon and armor. This can be accomplished through a variety of methods, including by using upgrade components or by increasing an item's rarity or mark level. In addition, many items can be reforged, which can boost their stats even more.

Upgradeable items can be found in the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. The main way to upgrade equipment is through the use of upgrade components which are components that can be slotted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and most require a certain level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while others offer a general bonus.

There are many types of upgrade components available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, such as gems and enchantments, are able to be put in any equipment type and offer fewer bonuses than those that are equipment type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs can only be found in gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, ranging from boosting the speed at which an item gathers to supplying additional crafting materials.

Select the item in your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. This will display an overview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, along with any materials or components required. The Upgrade button at the bottom will show Blocked if you don't have enough of either.

The upper-right corner displays the amount of upgrade components required for a particular item. The cost of upgrading increases depending on the level of the upgrade and upgrade items its rarity, however it can be reduced by various methods, such as buying upgrades from a retailer or trading them to other players.

Most weapons can be improved by adding a prefix, such as a rune, or an insignia, and others can be upgraded with the suffix. These upgrades change the name of the item to add an adjective, upgrade items like "Radiant" or "Minor vigor.' The exceptions are the noninscribable wands, shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which cannot be upgraded with any kinds of mods in any way.

Glyphs

Glyphs are an effective tool to communicate visual information. They are animated to grab the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity. The animation of glyphs mimics the body language and makes them more effective in transmitting a linguistic barrier-crossing message. Glyphs can also increase the likelihood of remembering a message by evoking a familiarity in the brain.

Each glyph has a set of values it can improve a stat by in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This is the maximum value that the glyph can increase a stat's value by, not the amount that it actually improves it by. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and the quality of the product you are enchanting.

Most upgrade components slotted into items can't be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the gear in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have an unusable rune or glyph that hasn't yet been added to your gear, you can move it to another piece of equipment by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu on the Glyphs panel. This will create an Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.

If you wish to remove the glyph from an item, you will need to salvage it using an Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item where the glyph is installed will be destroyed, however the upgraded item upgrader mod can be salvaged with the glyph shards.

The addition of a glyph to an item upgrader kit can cause it to become unstable, and the shards of the glyph will disappear from your inventory when you take it down. You can also put an inscription on your equipment to make it more valuable. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer rather than all at one time. This is beneficial for those who take a lot of damage from their enemies however do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens permit players to alter the affixes they use on their equipment and weapons, and can be found in a variety of ways like mistery boxes, as an uncommon drop from skulled creatures, or from killing bosses. Each reroll token grants players a new random affix, which is typically better than the original one. Reroll tokens are also a good method to reroll the stats of a weapon that can be upgraded to provide better damage or other perks.

Rerolled items don't appear in the menu of upgrade item options, however they can still be upgraded. Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button that alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to be chosen to recycle. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the item upgrader kit's rarity and its own level, so higher-level items are more valuable to recycle than lower-level ones.

Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits to upgrade units. Rerolls roll the % chance of a particular weapon trait; if it rolls higher, the weapon will be upgraded. If it rolls lower, it remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to 3 times.

Rerolling is an excellent method to improve an item. However, players should be aware of the fact that the total ilvl is reduced by the number the rerolls required to bring it to the final ilvl. This reduction effect is most effective on Diadems and ring items that don't have competing ilvl-raising options.

Players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It's better to allow players to pay for it with cash or food items which would allow players to make changes to their builds without having to invest too much time. However paying for rerolls is not something the developers want to implement at this point in the game's development. They're planning to include a potion that will allow players to change their race in the future.

Leveling

There are a number of ways to level up an upgrade to an item. The first way to level up an upgrade for an item is to increase the upgrade amount. This boosts the upgrade value for any stat. The second is to increase the upgrade effect that increases the healing or damage of a specific stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel, but will be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item.

When you upgrade items it is essential to remember that upgrades aren't always planned. Most of the time, a higher roll is based on the glyphs. However, there are times when a greater or special roll could occur. Additionally, the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of item upgrading which means that when you upgrade a unique or rare item to an exceptional item type it has a chance to gain an increased iLevel.

Upgrades can be costly, especially if you are upgrading your equipment from the standard track to the legendary. The cost of upgrading an item will be contingent on its base iLevel as well as the number of upgrade levels. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to reach the next upgrade level.

If you're lucky your upgraded item will reach the highest level on its upgrade track and unlock an additional benefit. This will give you a substantial increase in the value of the item.
