It is easy to open and close the side panel thanks to a brand new mechanism. It's also more flexible than its predecessor with 11 different height levels as well as feet that retract to fit under any bed.

Our testers were impressed with the simple access to the side panel that can be flipped up and down by pressing one button. This was a huge help during night time feeds, as it meant they could reach into and take their baby away without disturbing them.

It is possible to lower the side panel by itself but this is not recommended, because it increases the chance that your baby will fall out of the cot. But, the patented safety locking mechanism guarantees that it will only remain in place when it is attached to the parent's bed correctly. This is a great feature to have for peace of mind, particularly when you're breastfeeding and need frequent feedings at night.

Telescopic legs permit the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed, including divan bases and beds with drawers. The only drawback to the instructions was that certain images were not captioned. This made it difficult to follow. Overall, the procedure was simple and the materials used were of top quality.

In co-sleeping mode we found the Shnuggle Air to be an ideal choice for breastfeeding mothers and women who have had a C-section, as it allows them to easily reach out to their newborn for feeding and comfort without having to get up from their own bed. It's also great for mothers who prefer not to go through the difficulty of getting in and out of a traditional cot, or placing their baby down to sleep.

During our testing we observed the gliding motion of this next to me crib to be extremely useful in helping babies fall asleep after feedings at midday and in the evening.
