World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to increase an item's gear score up to 700 and add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you take them to the kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd to benefit from their unique stats (like a perfectly broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats such as crit chance, attack damage as well as PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Many weapons also have an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a single unit. In certain instances, this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon upgrades by itself.

The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity and current level. For example the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a gun will increase until it needs an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.

Upgrades to weapons will also change the stats of the base. While this is usually a good thing but it can also have negative consequences too. Upgrades can make items inaccessible, unless you're very lucky.

Upgrades can be made to armor items to increase their performance. This can increase the defense base of a chest or helm, while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor also offers a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it can sometimes roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain when upgrading, as well as the relative values of those stats. This means that a change from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon gaining 33% attack damage. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button within the item upgrader menu with the arrows that are circling. This will roll an item upgrades and change its statistics, but not reset the weapon's levels or bind it to account status.

Armor

Making a few improvements to your armor could make a a huge difference in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE boosts to poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which can make the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the greater defense your character is, the more value you get from each point of health therefore it is important to improve your armor as often as you can.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four fountains in all, and each requires you to complete a specific side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the primary side quest and completed the fountain in question you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor is different. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For instance the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a large group of enemies in the majority of cold environments and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, giving you enough protection to survive an entire raid with a handful of friends.

Be aware that armor can't be upgraded in the same manner as weapons, so you'll need to concentrate on enhancing it to increase physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power when you're Mage. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades for armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or Item upgrading the helmet you wear to fight the final boss, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can gain some benefits to your armor. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades to the weapon you'll be using to beat the game. For example, the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have some upgrades to the chest armor and helmets so that you can sneak around some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, give the player with a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five types of potions with different effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, enhancing their level of effect. Additionally the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to them.

Upgrades to potion require a certain amount XP. This can be obtained through crafting them on a craft table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion and the item's rarity as well as Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI that lets you choose the potion that you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they will offer when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.

Once a potion is upgraded, it will not be degraded until you use it again or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking it in your inventory.

There were some changes to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For instance the splash potions now have the duration of 0:08 (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display of the item). The table of potion can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. Similarly, using a potion in a cauldron that is full drains the contents and replenishes the bottle.

Finally, there are lingering potions, which are brewed with splash and dragon breath potions. Similarly, a lingering potions effect can be extended by adding redstone. The potion table has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, such as the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket is a tiny and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to an object or decoration that serves a purpose but isn't particularly significant, such as a trinket. In some cultures a trinket can be used to show affection or friendship between family members.

In addition to armor, weapons, and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. They can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Trinkets unlike other items that can be upgraded, can be traded at will without losing statistics.

Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of each zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered with gold, tokens or fragments of trinkets that are rare.

Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to purchasing a new trinket. A player can upgrade a trinket for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same level of base as the old trinket however, Item upgrading it will also come with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.

Once the old Trinkets are no longer usable they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players, making them a popular alternative to gold.

In general players should upgrade their most important items first. This usually means the Best item upgrade-in-slot items for their class, then their secondary items and finally, other gear items that will not be replaced in the near future (for example rings or cloaks). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when selecting which items to upgrade. For example when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank it is recommended that they upgrade their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and chest.

Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher ilvl after they are no longer useful, and the new trinket can be upgraded to have an additional 1% upgrade bonus. However, a re-upgrade is likely to cause the trinket to be destroyed, unless it is saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
