World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The item upgrade lets players boost the gear rating of an item up 700 points, and then add a bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For example the perfect rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth it.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats such as crit chance, attack damage, PvE and PvP damage. Weapons also come with a flat bonus that increases their damage per second. A lot of weapons also have a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a unit. This bonus could exceed the damage that an upgrade can do on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For instance an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.

The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. This is usually a good aspect, but it may also have negative effects. For items that are only used in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance) upgrading them could render them useless unless you have an extremely fortunate roll.

Items of armor can also be upgraded to boost their stats. For instance, if you have chests or helms it will boost its base defense while a belt and gloves will improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor also has an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it may reroll to a lower value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain when upgrading along with the relative value of those stats. This means that a change from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in the weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will be hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button within the item menu, using the circling arrows. This will roll the item and change its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level or connect to the status of your account.

Armor

A few tweaks to your armor can make a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive increases in resistance to poison, curses, fire, and magic. This can make it easier to traverse difficult areas. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the greater health you will get from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four in total each of which requires you to complete a specific side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade items the first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, as an example can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which allows you to keep up in frigid environments with a lot of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded to +20 defense so that you can survive a raid with your friends.

You can't upgrade armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor for physical strength or the power of spells. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you wear for the final boss battle and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

You can also gain advantages to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll generally want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to beat the game. For example, the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have some upgrades to the helmets and chest armor so that you can escape some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquid substances that, if consumed, give the user a temporary status effect. There are five types of potions, each with different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to improve their level of effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.

Potion upgrades require a certain amount of XP. This can be earned by making them on a table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. However, the cost of upgrading changes depending on what type of potion you want to upgrade, and also on the item upgrader's Mark Level and rarity.

To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI that lets you choose the potion that you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they will offer when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP that they generate will be added to your current XP total.

Once a potion is upgraded, it will not be degraded until you use it again, or break the bottle it's stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change the name of the potion.

There were some changes to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. Splash potions for instance are now available with a time of that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display of the item. The table of potion can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can now be used in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be mixed in cauldrons. Similarly, using a potion in a cauldron that is full drains the potion and refills the bottle.

Trinkets

Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of each zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with gold, tokens, or fragments from a rare trinket.

The upgrade of a trinket can be an economical alternative to buying a new one. One can upgrade a trinket with as little 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl of the previous one, and will have an additional 1% upgrade bonus.

Trinkets can be upgraded when they're no longer useful, allowing a player to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded among players which makes them a good alternative to gold.

Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This usually means the Best item upgrader-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries and then other items of gear they won't replace in the near future (for example an earring or cloak). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when deciding the items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for a tank player then they should consider upgrading their chest, helm and shoulders.

Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher ilvl once they are no longer useful, and the new trinket can be upgraded to have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade will destroy the old trinket, unless it is saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still less expensive than buying a new one.
