It's also extremely easy to assemble and Georgina who participated in our MFM tests was able to put it together quickly and didn't need to read the instructions. It's also a great travel cot, folding down flat and slipping into a bag for easy storage.

The Next2me Magic, shortlisted for Best Cot, Crib, or Moses Basket in the 2021 Mother&Baby Awards, has a larger size, yet it's compact and easy to attach to your bed. Georgina found it straightforward to put together, however she did feel the zips could have been better explained on the instruction manual.

Easy to clean

If you're considering travel cots or bedside cribs be sure to look for models that have a mattress cover that is removable that can be machine-washed. That will help you keep it clean from spills, nappies, infant sick and drips. It is also recommended to choose one that is easily disassembled so you can clean and disinfect all the corners.

This is vital, as it's the best way to be sure that all germs and dirt have been removed. Verify that the sides of the crib are securely attached to ensure that your baby doesn't slide off or become trapped.
