Three Wheeled Buggies

Three-wheeled buggies are ideal for walking around the neighborhood or jogging. Their compact design makes it easy to maneuver even in tight spots.

For a smooth ride, go for a pram that has air-filled tyres. Look for models with a 360deg front swivel wheel. They are, however, susceptible to punctures. Make sure you have an emergency repair kit.

Sturdy frame

New figures show that three-wheeled buggies, that symbol of the noughties that were more expensive than common sense, are in rapid decline. Four-wheelers are replacing them, and are more versatile and easier to drive, while also looking stylish.

The basic idea is that the bigger the wheels are, the easier it will be for your buggy to cope with bumpy and rough pavements. The larger wheels on both the front and back makes it much easier to maneuver and more stable when walking downhill or over difficult terrain.

MFM reviewer Kath tested this buggy with a newborn baby and a toddler and found it to be extremely sturdy. It was able to withstand grass, cobbles and rough pavements, aswell as dirt tracks and kerbs. She said "it is sturdy to push and extremely solid when traversing difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable and require periodic pumping) have suspension built-in that was very comfortable for my children.

The shape and size of the seat is another aspect to consider. You will want it to be large enough for your child's comfort and you will also want it to be able to recline for them to lie flat. Some three-wheel buggies will have an option to lie flat completely while others only allow for a parent facing one.

The Roma Atlas is a great alternative for off-road or wet walks. This buggy is suitable for a single child from birth and can be modified to accommodate two children as your family expands. It is suitable for babies and toddlers up to age 4 and includes a bumper bar, raincover, improved 5-point harness, and a large cushioned seat unit. Wheels with a greater diameter

Larger wheels means that your buggy will have more stability on uneven terrain, which is ideal for off-road buggies. They also make it easier to move the pushchair around tight spaces. Many three wheeled buggies have swivel front wheels to help you navigate around corners with ease, whereas others are designed for running and come with fixed front wheels that lock to improve the best 3 wheel stroller speed and stability at the speed at which they can be pushed. This is particularly useful when you hit trees or a kerb. The front wheel will lift slightly to avoid hitting it.

A lot of 3 wheel stroller lightweight wheeled pushchairs come with air-filled tyres that allow them to handle a wide range of terrains. They are also more flexible than 4 wheelers. They are also lighter. They are more prone to punctures, and you'll need to have an repair kit and spare inner tubes on hand.

These buggies, according to MFM's Kath, have larger wheels that according to her "perform well on grass, gravel roads and market town cobbles" and are able to climb or descend kerbs. They also come with a suspension system that, in her words "smoothes out bumps with great efficiency".

The downside of having larger wheels is that they make some buggies quite wide and make it difficult to get through narrow spaces. This can be an issue if you plan to use it as a jogger or you need to get through doorways that are narrow while out and about. Many models have compact folding options that permit you to take off the front wheels and store them in a more compact manner.

Easy to manoeuvre

A three-wheeler can be easier to maneuver with children. The way in which they are built means that the front wheels rotate at a quick pace and are incredibly maneuverable, making them ideal for tricky terrain such as parks, cobbles and bumpy pavements as well as dirt tracks.

MFM reviewer Kath tried out a three-wheeler with her newborn and toddler and said: "The Terrain was a pleasure to maneuver over tough terrain with the swivel rear wheel particularly useful. I was also impressed with how well it handled kerbs when using the hand-operated break. It was very stable going downhill or on a rough terrain."

The only drawback to this amazing maneuverability is that the three wheel buggy's larger wheels sometimes mean it has to struggle in tight spaces - something to be aware of especially if you live in a metropolitan region. If this is an issue then a four-wheeled buggy might be a better option for you.
