When choosing a bedside crib, check that it meets the latest safety standards (it should be BS EN 1130:2019) and has no gaps or parts that could cause your baby to be trapped. Find a mattress with a firm, flat surface. A sagging mattress or one that is too soft could increase the risk of SIDS for your baby.

Lastly, look for a bedding that is fitted and free of loose blankets or pillows. Duvets and pillows can suffocate your baby, while pillows can get stuck to their faces. It's best to opt for a fitted sheet, but make sure it's fitted correctly.

Its slim frame and neutral color options will fit in with all bedrooms, though some of our home testers thought the bars were too close together, which means they could catch on clothes or toys for babies. The distance between each bar should not exceed 6.5cm (2.5 inches) to ensure your baby's head can't become trapped. This crib is also ideal for babies with reflux, because the ComfortAir air-flow system helps regulate their body temperature.

Comfort

A close and secure baby all night will give you peace of mind, however, you need to be in a position to be able to get them quickly during the night for feeding. With a crib at your bedside, you can do this without getting out of bed. They also make it simple to soothe babies back to sleep. If, however, you'd like to lay down with your baby but aren't keen on the idea of getting out of bed for every feeding moses baskets are an ideal choice.

One thing to keep in mind is that your baby may begin to get out of the crib when they're tall enough to sit typically around six months. This is why it's essential to place them in a cot or another sleeping arrangement as they grow out of the crib.

A lightweight cot that is suitable for travel is a further option to think about. Some of our mums really enjoy the fact that the crib is able to be dismantled for easy transport, but others find it a bit tricky to assemble and rebuild. It can also be difficult to keep clean and therefore you'll have to regularly wipe it down with a cloth and cleaning product.

Avoid placing stickers or other objects on the floor of the cot as they could be a choking risk.
