WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

The more modernized gear generally has a higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher item level Upgrade level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be visited anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgraders for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. button, which displays an image of the item at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for Item Level Upgrade a lesser amount of the two currency types.

Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are available only via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit as well as an issue.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with numerous new features added. After the player has upgraded to a certain Best item upgrader level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is true even if the items are from an entirely different set of gear.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a couple of options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item upgrades level upgrades. Crests are an integral component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests can only be spent on equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has its own requirements for upgrading. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complicated may require as many as 20 crests, based on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, which involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items or Item Level Upgrade Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an item upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item upgrade in the proper steps and paths.

Using these new currencies isn't too difficult, but the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. For example, once an item is at the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade items their gear to the highest possible level for all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests only have one use therefore it's essential to use them properly. For instance, it's a good idea to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrader equipment you have and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning on making. This is particularly applicable to rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
