The i3+ does not have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we tested. It can be stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between surfaces, such as hardwood and rug.

iRobot suggests cleaning up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other clutter it might come across. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filters clean to prevent them from getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is depleted, it returns to its docking station and automatically empties its debris into the station's external dustbin and continues cleaning the area where it started. The battery's lifespan is around an hour and a half of constant use. It takes about three hours to fully charge.

We were also awestruck by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room and even vacuum a specific area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. Once connected, we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom."
