UPVC Replacement Door Handles

Over time, the handles on your doors will wear out and require replacement. It is important to be able to match the dimensions of the handles you have previously replaced when replacing them.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever/lever handle is a modern-day door handle designed to suit new or replacement doors. This type door handle is available in a variety of styles and finishes. A number of manufacturers offer this handle including Avocet, ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

The handle can be positioned and angled to suit the needs of all users. The handle has been tested to 200,000 cycles, this helps to ensure the quality of the finish and the performance of the handle over time. The sprung lever is also adjustable to accommodate a wide range of locks. This is particularly useful for narrower doors where the cylinder is situated further back in the door. A shortened lever is also an excellent option for doors where the latch could be opened by a thumb turn inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc door handle repairs functions differently from lever-type handles that are found on the majority of doors. These handles can operate from a single spindle (inline) or [Redirect-302] independently from each side by using two offset or inline spindles (pad). They are usually used on UPVC doors with double glazing. They come in a variety of finishes and variations.

Euro cylinders are available with up to six pins. Doors that are internal and external require different levels of security.

The choice of the correct cylinder is vitally important; this is dependent on the way your doors and handles are utilized. Doors that are external, for instance are required to be fitted with higher security cylinders while doors inside can be secured with a standard cylinder. Certain cylinders are equipped with additional features that can improve security, like anti drill or anti bump properties.

A euro cylinder must be measured correctly to ensure it's the correct size for your door. The cylinder needs to be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn if there is one. It is best to do this with the lock in place however if this is not possible, you may take it off to measure. It is essential to avoid having a cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This can make it vulnerable to snapping lock attacks.

The majority of modern cylinders have been made with anti-drill and bump resistance features included in their design. They are designed to minimize attack chances by forcing the cylinders to rotate in a new direction. This helps stop the attack and protect your doors.

There are cylinders made to resist snapping. This is a common occurrence on cylinders. A special tool is used to break the lock's break line and the front door handle repair of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a much faster and easier way to gain access than through a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the break-in which can delay insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is situated within the base plate of your door handle. It provides a sprung solution to return the multipoint lock handles to their resting position after use. The handles had no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was disengaged. Adding this simple component is one of the best ways to correct this issue and is an effective way to keep your upvc doors from getting stuck in an open or closed position, as these aren't always easy to manually close by hand.

These spring cassettes were created to be used with a spring multipoint locks. They won't work with handles that aren't sprung and you'll need to cut a hole into your backplate for them to fit. (Please look at the image for a more detailed diagram). They are a replacement for existing broken or missing cassettes within the backplates of door handles of various kinds of uPVC doors. They are sold as a single unit. They have a square-cut out that is able to accommodate an 8mm shaft.
