World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, item upgrade it may increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.

Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its base stats increase in value. This value is the total of all its leveled up perks (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades to items can be costly depending on the upgrader and the kind of upgrade you decide to perform. This is due to the sheer number of perks that need to be changed in order to upgrade an item.

Item level is a widely used measure of power, and can be seen on all tooltips of items. It is also used to limit how much PvP gear players can wear since PvP is not available at lower levels. The average level of the item can be found in the character sheet.

Using the item level can help players compare the strength of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's a sign of the item's damage and its quality. Comparing items from the inventory of a seller can be done by using the item level.

On PC, you can check the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including ilvl. It can also be located by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor, and Item upgrade then entering /itemlevel into chat.

There are several theories about how the level of an item is determined. One theory is that the item level is a number that comes from a formula that calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It considers the fact that different perks have different worth and sockets have gems that increase the overall value of the item. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's level, which is usually quite close to the actual Blizzard level of the item.

However, this isn't the only factor that can affect an item's ilvl because the level of the area the item was dropped in could change the value of its stats, for example by adding an additional level to its haste rating or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have a higher value.

Item Stats

Stats on an item are a significant part of what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses them in a variety of ways to encourage players to not restrict themselves to a particular weapon and to encourage players to explore other weapons. The base stats of a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modifications which are then enhanced by the player's level.

The upgrades to an item can boost its stats. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, while an item level upgrade with the rare levels will be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.

Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item upgrade by the player and are available in all shapes and sizes. The affixes could do things like give the item additional damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving dead or cutting down the duration of cooldowns) or make the item unique by giving an additional name to the item.

All affixes can be re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade menu pressing the green button. This will cost a specific amount in gold and items. They can also be used as upgrade item gauges just like the other methods of rerolling.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which of the available stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges of an item are based on the level of the item, however all items are guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within the specified range, unless it is an item that is unique or a God roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could change is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll affixes, or choose which stats to enhance. Similar to base equipment, it will have to be done per item and the item comparison interface would not display all the possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the probability of obtaining items and the properties that are created by loot and the intensity of these properties. It doesn't, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players a chance to acquire better equipment in earlier waves, and is therefore more valuable in the initial game run than in later ones, since most players prefer higher weapon scaling and defenses over raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading, which increases with each level of the item and can be further increased by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can be made or spawn by using the Luck property, with an initial value of 40. These items can be enhanced by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) for a further +40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Moreover some items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow, can be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be purchased in the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chances of success for an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their item if it is not successful.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. The percentage of success can only be increased by so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..

The Luck of an item can also affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. Every item has an initial success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

The item upgrade overlays are displayed above items in the inventory. This may cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
