3 Wheeler Buggies

A three-wheeler is ideal for off-roading and provides an easy ride for your infant. It is important to note that the seats don't recline fully however they can be adjusted to the lowest position which should still give your child plenty of headroom and room to move around.

A sling seat made of cloth is also available. It is set snugly inside the frame instead of on top like the modular seat. This delivers a much lower centre of gravity and a perfect weight distribution. This makes it easier to push, especially over bumpy terrain and curbs. MFM reviewer Kath liked the way this style of seat handled the obstacles.

Tyres

Air filled tyres have been designed to provide your child with a more comfortable ride by cushioning out bumps and uneven surfaces. They are commonly found on pushchairs such as the Phil and Ted's Sport which MFM reviewer Kath found to offer "an outstanding ride for my toddler". She also said that the grippy tyres on the Phil and Ted's Sport made it easier for her to maneuver around the kerbs and other obstacles.

They can be difficult to maintain and require air pressure maintained regularly. These tyres are more prone to punctures, and it is recommended to always carry a repair kit and spare inner tube when you're out and out and about.

PU tyres can be seen on a lot more pushchairs than air-filled tyres, yet they're still as sturdy. PU tire are easily identifiable by their matte finish and soft feel. They also slide across flat and tidy surfaces.

You can usually identify the difference between air-filled and PU tires by running your hands over them, if it feels hard, then it's a rubber tyre, and If it slides, then it's a PU. You can also check whether your buggy is equipped with PU tyres by sliding them across an even, smooth surface. They should roll easily and fit snugly into wheel hubs.

Foam tyres are commonly used in high-performance buggies and joggers since they are able to cope with the rough terrain that's associated with this kind of pushchair. This could make your buggy less stable since the foam loses its springy nature. Also, these tyres may typically be noisy because they create lots of noise when you turn and make your way around town.
